Nigerian Newspapers: 10 things you need to know this Monday

1. Report says of the five local governments announced so far in the ongoing Bayelsa State election, PDP is in a comfortable lead. The party leads in Kolokuma Opokuma LGA, Yenagoa LGA, Sagbama LGA and Ekeremor LGA. APC leads only in Brass LGA. 3 more LGAs are still being awaited

2. The Sylva/Igiri governorship campaign organization of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel election results in the two local government areas of Sagbama and Ekeremor. Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Nathan Egba said the request became necessary following widespread corruption and irregularities that marred the elections in the two 
council areas.
3. With the commencement of heavy strikes deep into the heart of Sambisa forest, the army has reportedly cleared most of the camps in the forest, rescued persons held captive, arrested some terrorists and destroyed most of their weapons and equipment. However, about three soldiers reportedly lost their lives in the renewed campaign, while two others sustained gunshot injuries.
4. Leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has unveiled a new name for the group. The group will now be called Biafra Independent Movement, BIM.
5. The Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has lifted the three months ban he slammed on the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr. Modupe Alade over alleged incompetence.
The governor lifted the ban following a request by Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, during the celebration of the monarch’s 25th coronation anniversary.
6. The new Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaje 11, will today be presented the staff of office by Governor Rauf Arebgesola at the Enuwa Square I front of the Ooni’s palace.
7. The Department of State Services (DSS) has claimed that it has arrested two out of five of its Staff involved in the 20th November, 2015 robbery and sharing of N310million belonging to a Bureau De Change operator in Abuja.Relatively, the Military authorities have equally commenced detailed investigation into the involvement of five of its personnel involved in the crime.
8. Report says the special team probing the $2.2billion arms contract deal by the former NSA, yesterday, provided all the major suspects in the case with proofs of their illegal transactions, urging them to defend their acts before being arraigned in court this week.
9. Some gunmen believed to be Fulani herdsmen, weekend, kidnapped three building contractors at Amorji, near Onicha-Ukwani community, Ndokwa West LGA of Delta State. Reports claim the contractors were whisked away while working on a fenced site in the area.
10. For qualifying for the Semi-Final of the ongoing CAF under 23 tournament, Coach Samson Siasia, has given out $100 to each player of the squad. Report says the coach had earlier promised the players the amount, before they took on Algeria in their last group game on Saturday.
