Buhari treating PDP as "prisoners of war"-Olisa Metuh


PDP, has accused the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government of treating its members as prisoners of war. Spokesman of the party, Olisa Metuh, on Tuesday said, “We are being treated as if we are prisoners of war. We are being treated as if we are refugees. We are not afraid, we have faith in our strength and unity; faith in the peace, unity and progress of Nigeria.

Psquare and Phyno arrives Nigeria after MAMA Awards

Sensational pop twins Peter and Paul Okoye, better known as P-Square, arrived the country from South Africa in the earlier hours of Monday. P square won two awards- Best Group and Artist of the Decade at the 2015 MAMA awards held in Durban.
They were in the company of indigenous rapper, Phyno who didn’t pick any awards at the event. They were spotted by our reporter at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2).
Stars of the African and international music industry went out in force on Saturday for the fifth edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards. Nigeria again dominated this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards, MAMA, carting away most of the coveted trophies.

Police nab two for the Murder of APC Chieftain


The Homicide Section of the Lagos Police Command has arrested two suspects as it commenced investigation into the killing of an APC chieftain, Salawe Daramola. The command’s spokesman, Kenneth Nwosu, a DSP confirmed the arrest in an interview with NAN on Tuesday in Lagos. Nwosu, who did not mention if the two suspects were politicians, however, said they were arrested during the Sallah celebration

Former CSO To President Jonathan, Gordon Obua Dies In SSS Custody


Mr. Gordon Obua, former Chief Security Officer to President Goodluck Jonathan has passed away a few hours ago, July 20, 2015 in the custody of Department of Security Services (DSS) in its Abuja Headquarters where he had been detained since Thursday, July 16, 2015







Sources who have been monitoring the situation have confirmed Obua’s passing to The Trent. He was arrested on Thursday when he honoured an invitation by the DSS and had been in solitary confinement until his death.




Obua, who was being detained by the DSS in an underground dungeon for undisclosed reasons was being denied access to his lawyers, family, and his doctors on the orders of the new Director General of the DSS, Lawal Daura. The DSS (also called SSS) serves as Nigeria’s secret police.


Trent sources say Obua’s remains are still in the custody of the DSS at the time of filing this report. He was held without charges filed against him.


On July 18, 2015, Onochie Onwuegbuna, the lead partner at Zeran Legal issued a press statement on behalf of Obua’s family complaining about the conditions in which his client was being detained  and said that his client was being witch-hunted by the Buhari government. He said his client was diabetic and hypertensive and was being denied his drugs as well as food and water by the DSS.

APC to reject Fayose as deputy chairman of NGF


Governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress are perfecting strategies to oppose the nomination of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as the Deputy Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum. It was learnt that members of the NGF who are scheduled to meet on Wednesday, ahead of the National Economic Forum meeting on Thursday, are likely to select a deputy chairman.

NFF:Nigeria aiming to win FIFA World Cup


First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation,Seyi Akinwunmi,has reiterated that the plan of the present board& management of the federation is to win the FIFA World Cup for Nigeria. Akinwunmi said this on Sunday in Port Harcourt while addressing players and officials of the U-23 National Team, Dream Team, after its 2-1 victory over Congo in an African U-23 Championship qualifying game.
