Thirteen killed in Cameroon twin bomb Blast

No fewer than thirteen  people have been killed in twin suicide bombings that hit the capital of Cameroon's far northern region of Maroua on Wednesday. The first explosion went off at a market, while the second blast was at a densely populated neighbourhood, according to a senior military source.

                                                           Pandemonium broke out on Tuesday in Ovwian community, Udu local government area, Delta State following clashes between two secret cult groups, Baga and Dominion, which resulted in the destruction of three cars, community town hall and the death of a middle-aged man identified as Mr. Erhuvwum Kebe.

Buhari's Appointment:Ndigbo urged to be patient

As mixed reactions continued to trail the recent appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, people of the South East region, have been urged to ‎exercise restraint in making quick conclusions that they will be marginalised under the Buhari’s administration. EFCC invites Saraki's wife,Yar'Adua daughter

Wife of the Senate President, Toyin Saraki,daughter of former president,Alh Umaru Yar’Adua and wife of former governor  of Kebbi State, Zainab  Dakingari, have been invited to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning. They are expected to report at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on July 28, where a crack team of investigators have already been assembled.

Lagos State Government renames Finance Department

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has scrapped the Finance and Administration Department in the state’s civil service, renaming it the Administration and Human Resource Department. A circular by the Head of Service, Mrs. Shade Jaji, explained that the decision was made to ensure an organised public service.

Another Explosion Rocks NNPC Pipeline in Arepo

Another explosion on Wednesday rocked one of the  pipelines of NNPC at Arepo area of Ogun and reportedly killed several pipeline vandals. The incident,which is one in a series of pipeline vandalism at the  Arepo area,occurred after some vandals exchanged gunfire. The vandals,who were said to be from opposing camps,had engaged in a gun duel in a show of supremacy over who should control the pipeline.

Nobody is above the Law,says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo said on Wednesday the Buhari administration would not spare anyone who went against the law as it would propagate the Rule of Law in all its programmes. He said this when the officials of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) paid him a solidarity visit at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

Majek Fashek visits the Dentist

Troubled Nigerian music legend Majek Fashek recently visited a dentist to fix his bad teeth as part of his efforts to get his life back together. His friend Black Rise shared photos from Majek’s visit to the dentist on his Facebook page and wrote “Thanking you all for your contributions and donations. You can see your goodwill is showing and working”

Tragedy averted in Lagos as aircraft tyre bursts.

The tyre of a Boeing 737-500 Aero Airlines aircraft burst yesterday  during take-off at the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MM2), Lagos. According to a source, the 141 passengers on board the Lagos-Abuja flight were scared as the pilot initiated a return. The spokesman of Aero Airlines, Simon Tumba, said the pilot took emergency precautionary steps by returning to base.
