NYSC bars pregnant women,nursing womens,PG students from service


The NYSC has barred pregnant women, nursing mothers & students engaged in postgraduate studies from enlisting in the national service across the country, until they are free to participate effectively. In a communique, the NYSC also resolved that henceforth, pregnant women and children would no longer be allowed into orientation camps across the country for service under the scheme.

School fees:Ijaw leaders,Amnesty beneficiaries begs for Buhari's Assistance

An Ijaw leader and two beneficiaries of the amnesty programme meant for former militants in the Niger-Delta on Thursday urged President Muhammadu Buhari to assist in the payment of their school fees. They told NAN in Lagos that the non-payment of the school fees would lead to the ejection of over 3,000 beneficiaries of the programme from their various institutions abroad.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday confirmed that he had started receiving some documents which indicted some former ministers and other top government officials of massive fraud, including oil theft. Buhari said the documents revealed that some top government officials moved as much as one million barrels of crude oil per day for their personal purposes.

Tompolo,MEND leaders regroup sarturday in Bayelsa

Leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta and  High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, yesterday, summoned commanders & leaders of the various wings of the militant group to an emergency meeting, tomorrow  in Yenagoa, Bayelsa .He did not state agenda of the meeting, but Tompolo, who is the Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw nation, in the invitation, said the meeting, which will hold at Izon House, Yenagoa, was important.

JAMB:Unilag Rejects 59,000 Candidates


 
University of Lagos has rejected about 59,000 candidates who applied for their tertiary education in the school through JAMB .This was in irrespective of the fact that majority of the students scored above the Board’s cut-off mark.  JAMB spokesman, Fabian Benjamin stated that the Board has entered into an agreement with the school to post the rejected students to other schools around Lagos environs

Crude used for swap,proceeds remitted to federation account-NNPC

Out of a total of 162.425 million barrels of crude oil allocated to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, for the country’s four refineries in 2014, the refineries only received 25.84 million barrels of crude oil leaving 135.85 million barrels of crude oil, valued at about N2.62 trillion appropriated for other uses not disclosed by the NNPC.
