Manchester United's perfect start to the new season came to an end on Saturday lunchtime as Newcastle secured a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.
Captain Wayne Rooney had a first-half goal rightly disallowed for offside as Louis van Gaal's men struggled to break down the visitors.
Substitute Javier Hernandez was denied by Tim Krul with a little over 10 minutes remaining as Steve McClaren's men left with a point.
