Veteran journalist Hajiya Bilkisu Yusuf has been confirmed dead among Nigerians who died in Thursday’s deadly stampede at the Jamarat Bridge outside Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Photo-based social media site Instagram has burst through the 400 million members landmark, after some 100m users signed up in the past nine months.
 The California-based firm - which was snapped up by Facebook in 2012 for $1 billion (£669m) - said it was "thrilled" by the milestone, and said the figure had seemed like a "dream" when it launched almost five years ago.

No fewer than 717 people, including Nigerians, taking part in the Hajj pilgrimage were yesterday killed in a stampede near the Islamic holy city of Mecca.
Another 863 people were injured in the incident at Mina, which occurred as two million pilgrims were taking part in the Hajj’s last major rite.
