Five people have been sentenced to death for planning a series of bomb blasts that ripped through Mumbai's busy commuter rail system killing more than 180 people.

The men were responsible for planting and detonating seven bombs which exploded on packed trains and station platforms on July 11, 2006 during the evening rush hour in Mumbai.
More than 180 people were killed, and 80 injured, when the co-ordinated explosions were detonated within 15 minutes of each other in the city's Matunga, Khar, Mahim, Jogeshwari, Borivali and Mira Road districts.
