The gunman in the Oregon shooting asked his victims to state their religion before shooting them anyway, witnesses to the massacre have said.
Anastasia Boylan, who was injured in the attack, told her father that the gunman walked in to a classroom at Unmpqua Community College and shot the professor point blank, saying: "I've been waiting to do this for years."
Stacy Boylan told CNN his daughter had spoken to him about the attack before receiving spinal surgery, and had said everyone dropped to the ground following the shooting.
He recalled being told that the gunman - believed to be 26-year-old Chris Harper-Mercer - then told students to stand up, and made them state their religion as he reloaded his gun.
"And they would stand up and he said, 'Good, because you're a Christian, you're going to see God in just about one second,'" he said.
The description of the scene was similar to that given by Kortney Moore, an 18-year-old witness who told local paper the Roseburg New Review she had laid on the ground with people who had been shot.
