Nigeria vs Egypt: Siasia drops 3 players

Super Eagles caretaker manager, Samson Siasia, has wielded the big stick, dropping three players from the list of players invited for the Africa Nations Cup qualifiers against Egypt. The three players, who are also part of the U-23 Olympic team, were cut after they reported late to the U-23 team camp.

On Monday, the Nigeria Football Federation announced that Segun Oduduwa, Usman Mohammed and Stanley Dimgba have been dropped. The players listed last week by the NFF as part of the squad called up for the U-23 Eagles camping for a friendly match against Brazil later this month but they were said to have reported late to that programme.
Siasia, who led Oduduwa, Mohammed and other players to win the African U-23 in December, asked them not to show up at the Super Eagles camp as punishment for reporting late to the juniors camp. They were not given a prior clearance to arrive in camp late. Dimgba was not in the team to Senegal but trained extensively with them and the Eagles B team.
On Monday Siasia said, “We cannot have those three in camp anymore. This is a very serious business, and only serious-minded persons can be .
Some of those seen are Chima Akas, Sincere Seth, Oghenekaro Etebo, Etim Matthew, Femi Thomas and Kalu Orji.
Six other players were still being expected to complete the 20-man list for the Nigeria-based players.
Nigeria will face Egypt in Kaduna on March 25.
