She Has NO Regrets! Watch Ini Edo’s Latest Interview on Marriage, Politics & More

Ini Edo 1Nollywood actress Ini Edo has been one to shy away from talking about her private life, but in this chat with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on ‘Rubbing Minds’ she opens up about a whole lot.

The interview was aired live on Sunday, August 23. If you missed it we’ve got the video clips.
She spoke about her 5-year marriage to U.S based ex-husband, Phillip Ehiagwina.
Ini Edo opened up on why she thinks the marriage ended, how being an actress afftected her marriage and much more.
Read excerpts below.
On rumours that she chose her career over her family: First of all, I got married early because I wanted to have a family so anybody wouldn’t think that I would want to choose career over family. In as much as my career is also very important.
On why her marriage ended: Basically there would never be a particular reason. You know how these things work, I mean, just like I said incompatibility… or not being able to reach certain compromises or finding common ground. You know when you’re with and you cannot find common ground or agree on certain things *sighs*.
On if she got married too soon: No, I don’t think I got married too soon. I was pretty much of age but maybe in a little bit of a hurry but I don’t think I got married too soon.
On if her movie roles affected her marriage: I tried to keep my roles as decent as possible when I got married. Of course, naturally there are certain roles that you are not going to be allowed to play. Even if you are allowed to play them it’s not just your husband, you’ve got his relations as well, and even if he understands his relations might not.
On if she has regrets: I try not to regret my actions so I will say it has been an experience which I have learnt a lot from. It’s made me a stronger person, it’s made me wiser and I think it has actually made me more matured. So I won’t say that I regret anything; I’ll say that I learned my lesson.

Ini Edo also gives reasons why she campaigned for former president, Goodluck Jonathan, during the 2015 general elections.
