Jose Mourinho refused to comment on his latest FA charge and used Liverpool and Man Utd to defend his poor form at Chelsea during a tetchy press-conference on Friday.
Reports suggest the Premier League match could be Mourinho's last in charge if his stuttering Blues are defeated once again.
The reigning champions are languishing in 15th position after their fifth defeat in ten games, at Upton Park last weekend, saw Mourinho and Nemanja Matic dismissed before the second-half.
Mourinho defended his record at Chelsea this term by arguing:
When pressed on whether he is capable of steering Chelsea back into the top four this season, he said: "I cannot promise."
Saturday's match is the first meeting between Mourinho and new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who the Blues boss admits he likes "a lot" despite the pair not being particularly close.
"I'm not a close friend because football doesn't normally allow that," he said. "But he's a guy that I like a lot we have a good relation, as a manager his work speaks. In spite of the last season to forget, I consider him one of the best managers in Europe."
Mourinho also refused to comment on whether he has received reassurances from Roman Abramovich over his future as manager, explaining: "I don't need to tell you" when prompted for an answer.
