John Terry has ripped into footballer-turned-pundit Robbie Savage by claiming his criticism is worthless because he played "at a really bad level".
The Chelsea skipper has come under fire in recent weeks, as his performances and those of the reigning champions have left them languishing near the Premier League drop zone.
Speaking ahead of this week's Champions League tie against Dynamo Kiev, former England captain Terry said he was happy to take criticism on board from distinguished trio Rio Ferdinand, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.
"I sit there and listen and take everything in, and try to improve," he said: "I don’t look at that in a negative way."
The central defender finds it much more difficult accepting critcism from Savage, however, who won the League Cup with Leicester in 2000 and the old division two play-offs at Crewe in 1997.
"When certain other people speak," Terry added, "Maybe I don’t listen, maybe I don’t take it on the chin when players who’ve not had a career, have played at a really bad level throughout their career and come for people who’ve achieved what I’ve achieved in the game. You know, Robbie Savage being one of them."
