Gunmen abduct four- year old boy in Ogun

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a four -year old boy, Master Steve Kanu, from his parents’ home in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The toddler was said to have gone to open the gate of his father’s compound at the Laderin Estate, Abeokuta, on Monday evening when he heard visitors knocking at it
After opening the gate, the strange visitors grabbed the boy and took him into a waiting vehicle on the street and sped away to unknown location.
The Nation gathered that the abductors are yet to contact the family or demand ransom.
It was learnt that the father of the boy, Dr. Mucipay Kanu, was in the sitting room while his wife was also in the kitchen busy with cooking when the incident occurred.
According to Kanu, the suspected kidnappers who pretended to be visitors, knocked at the gate of the house repeatedly when the innocent boy was playing with the family puppy dog in the compound and seized him when he opened the gate.
The kidnappers reportedly took him into a unmarked waiting vehicle and raced away while neighbours who dared to chase them, beat a retreat half-way following sporadic gunshots fired into the air by the fleeing abductors.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told journalists that police personnel are working to get the suspects, the whereabouts and also rescue the victim.
Oyeyemi said all police formations in the state have been notified on the incident.
