NPFL: Kano Pillars End MFM’s Home Winning Streak

MFM FC and Kano Pillars battled to a 1-1 draw in their Nigeria Professional Football League match day eight fixture at the Agege Stadium on Wednesday evening.

It was the first time the Olukoya Boys failed to register a win at home in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season.
MFM opened scoring through Stanley Okorom in the 28th minute.

Okorom volleyed home a sublime shot after ghosting past his marker to send the home fans into wild ecstasy.
MFM’s goalkeeper, James Aiyeyemi, was in inspiring form and he made a number of good saves to help his side maintain the lead in the first stanza.
He made a brave save to deny Adamu Hassan from equalising two minutes before the break.
Pillars dominated proceedings after the break but were unable to find a way through the resolute home side’s defence.
They however levelled scores in the 66th minute albeit in controversial circumstances.
The centre refree pointed to the spot following Bashiru Monsuru’s foul on Prince Aggreh which occurred outside the box.
The spot kick was expertly dispatched by Rabiu Ali
, who has now scored four times for the Sai Masu Gida in the NPFL this season.
The two teams toiled hard to find the winning goal afterwards with no success
