First Catholic University Opens in Lagos

The first Catholic University opens in Lagos, precisely located in Ilara-Epe, a community in -Eredo Local Council Development Area in Lagos State.


The University which is a first of its kind in the Archdiocese was initiated by the former Lagos Diocese Archbishop, His Eminence Anthony Cardinal Okogie.
During the pre-inauguration press briefing at the Augustine University campus in Epe on Saturday, the Archbishop of the Metropolitan Lagos, Most Reverend Alfred Adewale Martins, disclosed that the project, which began in October 2008, had finally materialised after seven years.
The Vice Chancellor, Steve Afolami affirmed that academic activities would begin in the institution on 30th October.
He said it would accommodate students with a minimum of 180 JAMB score with five credits in relevant subjects including Mathematics and English.
Students of the Augustine University will have complete access to the internet as well as other relevant facilities.
According to the Vice Chancellor, the school fees will be affordable with the highest fee set at N730,000.
