New York stands with Paris in 'solemn solidarity'

World Trade Center in New York was lit in up in blue, white and red overnight to express solidarity with the people of Paris in the wake of a series of deadly terror attacks in the French capital.

NBC News New York reports that Governor Andrew Cuomo directed that the landmark building be floodlit in France's national colours as the city stood in "solemn solidarity with the people of France, just as they have done for us in our own times of tragedy".
In a statement, he said:
We join them in mourning those who were killed, and in praying for those who were injured or lost loved ones.
And we continue to stand side by side with them in our commitment to a free and peaceful world.
– GOV. ANDREW CUOMO, NEW YORK
