The forward has scored three goals for the Reds in seven games since joining from Burnley on a free transfer and made his England debut in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania on Monday.
18-year-old left-back Joe Gomez has also been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury he picked up while on international duty with England Under-21s.
