The President of Urhobo Social Club, Chief Simeon Ohwofa, has described the late business icon, Mr. Gamaliel Onosode, as a standard bearer whose life personified the change and national rebirth Nigeria is earnestly yearning for.
Chief Ohwofa made this statement when he led members of the club on a condolence visit to the Onosodes in Surulere, Lagos. He said Onosode left indelible marks of integrity, hard work and a sense of purpose in business, church, educational institutions and all aspects of life where he found himself.
Ohwofa said: “Though not directly in government, the federal government, state governments and government agencies sought his wise counsel from his hay days in the 70s till he died.”
He described Onosode as a great Nigerian, a great son of the Niger Delta and his native Urhoboland and prayed for the repose of his soul.
The delegation which included the club’s vice presidents, Chris Umukoro and Austin Enajemo-Isire and trustees, Johnson Barovbe, Oma Odoh-Tadafe and Emmanuel Evue, was received by the widow and children, Ese and Spencer.
