Filling Station employee allegedly steals N329,000 in two weeks

38 years old Idowu Ganiyu has been remanded in prison for allegedly stealing his employer’s N329,000 two weeks after his services were employed by the filling station.
It was gathered that the alleged theft occured at a popular filling station at Igando road in Ikotun.
Ganiyu who had secured the job two weeks before his alleged theft through one of his relatives was put in charge of selling petrol to motorists.
He allegedly proceeded to keep some of his daily proceeds for personal use over the short period of work with his employer and when questioned by the management denied knowledge of the act
Ganiyu who was subsequently arrested and charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate court for stealing under the Criminal Code however pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The presiding Magistate, Mr A. A. Fashola however ordered Ganiyu be remanded in prison till his bail of N100,000 and other conditions are met.
The matter was adjourned till February 24, 2016.
