Vulcaniser commits suicide in Lagos

A middle aged man, Afape Fatai, has committed suicide in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

Fatai, who resided at 28, Orioji Olarewaju Close, Ijaiye, a suburb of Lagos, was said to have hanged himself in the kitchen.
His body was discovered around 06.00am on Saturday by his neighbours who raised an alarm.
The matter was reported at Meiran Police station and policemen from the station came and removed the corpse to Ijaiye General Hospital morgue for autopsy after taking his photograph.
When our reporter visited the house, he was told that his family had come to take his wife and children to Ado-Odo Yewa in Ogun State, where he hailed from.
Our correspondent could not speak with Fatai’s neighbours or his landlord who was said to have gone out.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos who confirmed the story said investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstance that led to the incident.
