Siasia happy Ighalo is back to scoring form

Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Samson Siasia has praised the efforts of Watford and Eagles’ striker, Odion Ighalo who inspired his club to oust FA Cup holder Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the competition which they won 2-1 at the expense of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.

Ighalo scored the opening goal and was eventually awarded the Man of the Match of the game for his impressive contribution to Watford’s victory. Ighalo scored the opening goal in the 50th minute after which Ighalo’s teammate Guédioura increased tally in the 63rd minute and Arsenal’s striker Welbeck reduced tally in the 88th minute.

“Siasia, who had called to wish Ighalo well before the match was a happy man that one of his trusted players is back to scoring ways and did it in style ousting FA Cup holder from the competition.
Speaking with SportingLife after the match the elated Eagles gaffer expressed delight in the goal scored by Ighalo and was hopeful the striker would do same against the Pharaoh of Egypt in Kaduna on March 25.
“I am very happy that Odion (Ighalo) is back to his best and have started scoring again. I told you guys that this can happen to any player and that when the goals starts pouring in again it will continue. I like the goal Odion scored and I am hopeful that he can replicate this scoring form when he comes home for the Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifiers against Egypt in Kaduna and away in Alexandria”, Siasia disclosed.
