Bank manager who stole 12Million Naira , sent to prison custody

A Chief Magistrates’ Court siting in Akure, Ondo State, on Tuesday, ordered the remand of a 43-year-old former bank manager, Fatai Aguntasolo, in Olokuta Prison over his involvement in N12 million fraud.

The former bank manager was alleged to have converted the said money into his personal account instead of loading the money into the bank’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM).
According to prosecution, the accused person committed the offence at Ido-Ekiti cash centre of a new generation bank under the Akure Regional Office in Akure Magisterial District on July 8.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Ajibola Aderemi, asked the court to adjourn the case in order to allow him to present before the court witnesses and also to study the case file.
Counsel to the accused person, Ajayi Adeolu, however, urged the court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms, assuring the court that he would not jump bail if the application was granted.
The prosecutor however opposed the bail application based on the nature of the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Olayinka Omole, granted the prosecutor’s application and ordered that the accused person be remanded in prison.
She,thereafter, adjourned the case till Wednesday for continuation.
