Olu of Warri-designate urged to build bridges with Ijaw, Urhobo

National Coordinator of Niger Delta Grassroots Movement, NDGM, Mr Weyinmi Olley, has called on the Olu of Warri-designate, Prince Godfrey Emiko, to collaborate with the Ijaw and Urhobo ethnic nationalities for lasting peace in Warri.

Olley, in a statement, said the incoming Olu of Warri, Prince Emiko, holds promise for peace and unity needed for the advancement of the state and the nation.
He said that the transparent and detribalized disposition of the incoming Olu encourages not only prospect for the unity of purpose of the Itsekiri nation, but also friendly relations between Itsekiri and its neighbouring Ijaw and Urhobo people.
He said: “My optimism for peace and progress is founded on the transparent and detribalized nature of the Olu-designate. Once crowned, I urge the monarch to be fearless and sustain his virtues of transparency and impartiality that endeared him to people all along and treat the entire Itsekiri nation as one.
“He must continue to build bridges of unity with our Ijaw and Urhobo neighbours for lasting peace.”
