Fire outbreak kills family of 8 in Ebonyi

Eight family members in Ohufu village, Ogboji community in Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi state today lost their lives in a fire outbreak that occurred at about 3am.
Those who lost their lives in the unfortunate inferno includes a woman and her seven children while the husband, Sylvanus Nwefuru and one of the children, Ukamaka Nwefuru are the only members of the family that escaped.
The fire outbreak razed two thatched houses where the family members were sleeping. Properties worth thousands of naira were destroyed by the inferno.
According to Mr. Sylvanus Nweferu, an 80 year old man revealed to newsmen that he had loud noise while in deep sleep which woke him up.
On her part, Ukamaka Nwefuru said her mother rescued her and went to save other members of the family when she was cut by the inferno and she died.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ishielu local government area, Henry Eze called on security agents to investigate the matter.
It would be recalled that just about a week ago another Fire outbreak early morning raised a storey building located at number six Muoneke Street, Kpirikpiri Abakaliki in Ebonyi State.
Although no life was lost in the disaster, property worth millions of naira was destroyed as many of the occupants were still sleeping when the inferno started.
A section of the Abakpa main market the same week was also razed down by another unfortunate fire disaster which destroyed goods and properties worth billions of niara.
