Jamie Vardy breaks Premier League record

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has broken Ruud Van Nistelrooy's Premier League record by scoring for the eleventh match in row.

The England forward opened the scoring against Manchester United in the 24th minute on Saturday to break Ruud van Nistelrooy's 10-game mark, which had stood since 2003.

Vardy netted his 14th goal of the season when he latched onto Christian Fuchs' pass and fired in across David De Gea from 12 yards after Kasper Schmeichel had launched a quick break from a United corner.
The 28-year-old's run started with a late penalty in the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth in August and has included braces against Arsenal and Southampton, a winner against Watford and the record-equalling strike at Newcastle last week.
