IGP Arase denies attack on Jonathan’s convoy

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase, Wednesday debunked the allegations that the former President, Dr.Goodluck Jonathan’s convoy was attacked in Bayelsa State by thugs.

The IGP, who spoke to journalists in Abuja, rather stated that it was a ‘reckless driver’ that veered into the convoy, and he insisted that no harm was intended.
He said: “From what I heard from the State Commissioner of Police, somebody veered into their [the President’s] convoy but I don’t think it was intended to hurt him. We have crazy drivers all over the place. Nigerians don’t like obeying the law.”
Also, in the interaction, he disclosed that no fewer than 137 members of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have been arrested and are presently being prosecuted.
