Sen. Orji awards scholarship to indigent students

Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Theodore Orji, has awarded at least 60 members of his district with tertiary education scholarships.
Orji, who is the immediate past state governor of the state, said this during visits to headquarters of each of the six Local Councils of his senatorial district.
He said that the scholarships were intended for ten persons in each Local council, who must be indigent undergraduates.
He urged scholarship-desiring undergraduates to apply for the scheme for free, noting that the courses for which the awards would be given are those that will impact positively on the people.
The senator restated his commitment to serving his people effectively, saying that he has sponsored and proposed motions and bills at the National Assembly, which would address the needs and aspirations of Abia Central, the state, the South East and Nigeria.
He delivered bags of rice, among others, to the people comprising their traditional rulers in the spirit of Christmas.
He urged his constituents to continue to repose confidence in and support for him, noting, “continue to have confidence in me. I shall not let you down. You haven’t sent any thing yet. I have sponsored seven bills and some motions from which you all would benefit. I will do my best just as I have already done a little to help our unemployed youths get employment. I urge you to support and cooperate with the state government led by Dr Okezie Ikpeazu. He will not let us down despite that he came at a difficult time.”
