Iwobi, Iheanacho shine in Emirates FA Cup third round matches

It was a good day for two Nigerian youngsters, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho, as the Emirates FA Cup third round games were played on Saturday.

Iwobi was handed a starting place by Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger and repaid the Frenchman’s faith with a calm and industrious display in midfield.
He was involved in the exchanges that led to Joel Campbell cancelling out Jermaine Lens’ opener.
Iwobi was given a warm reception as he was replaced by Aaron Ramsey, who got on the scoresheet, as the Gunners began defence of their title with a 3-1 win.
Speaking on his performance, Wenger remarked: “I liked the timing of his passes. As a young boy, he is not afraid to come on and that is not easy.”
Iheanacho scored the second goal, as Manchester City hammered Norwich 3-0 at Carrow Road.
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, was on the losing side, as Wolves were dumped out after losing 1-0 to West Ham.
