Man stabs neighbour on his forehead with broken bottle

A 27-year old man, Bright Ozursuibo, who allegedly stabbed his neighbour on his forehead with broken bottle was on Thursday arraigned in Lagos.

The accused is facing a charge of assault before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos Island.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Philip Osijiale, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 9 at about 8:30p.m.
He said the accused stabbed one Mr Alex Uwanfioje with a broken bottle over a dispute they had at Abraham Adesanya Estate, Ajah, in Lagos State.
He alleged that the accused claimed to have warned Uwanfioje not to use his compound as a thoroughfare to his house on several occasions, but he failed to heed the warning.
“That was why he attacked him,’’ he said.
He said the offence contravened Sections 288 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs M.B Folami, granted the accused bail in the sum of 200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case to Feb. 15 for trial.
