Metuh’s arrest politically motivated – PDP‎

The Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has said it is now evident that the arrest of its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh was politically motivated
The party also accused President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of personal grudges against Metuh with the release of Brigadier-General Jafaru Isa (rtd), an associate of the president just eight hours after his arrest.
Brig-Gen. Isa, a chieftain of APC was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday for allegedly receiving $5 million from the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki in the controversial $2.1 billion arms scandal.
But PDP said his release while Metuh, who was arrested last Tuesday is still in the EFCC custody, vindicates its position that this Federal Government is not fighting corruption but on a clamp-down mission on PDP leaders.
The party in a statement on Sunday by its National Legal Adviser, Victor Kwon said there can be no clearer indication that the APC-led administration is on a man-hunt against PDP leaders, and that it has a personal grudge against Chief Metuh, his recent exchange with the government and the APC over their dictatorial activities.
