Namibia U17 coach accuses Nigeria of fielding overage players

Namibia women’s U-17 coach Melvin Mbakera has accused the Nigeria U-17 team – the Flamingoes – of fielding overage players.
The Flamingoes thrashed Namibia 4-0 in the first leg of the FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup qualifier on Saturday in Abuja.
Mbakera, speaking via Brila FM, described it as unfair on football.
The game between U-23 players against U-17 players,” Mbakera said of his team’s loss to Nigeria’s Flamingoes.
This is not fair and this is the reason why most countries don’t want to play in the U-17.”
He added, “Nigeria’s first goal was brilliant, but their three other goals were as a result of our players errors.”
Namibia will hope to overturn the 4-0 first leg deficit when they host the Flamingoes in the reverse fixture in Windhoek.
