Head coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, has blasted critics and labelled them as “insane”, for the recent flak he received over the team’s miserable outing at the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda
In a video posted on YouTube, the former national team captain, expressed his anger over the criticisms that came his way and called it a distraction for the players and his squad.
Although Oliseh admitted that his team did not meet expectations at the tournament organized for Africa-based players, he stated that Nigeria was still in track for the 2017 AFCON and 2018 World Cup
“The insane critics of the Super Eagles of Nigeria are just there to pull the team down with their criticism of seeing the back of the coach,” Oliseh said in the first part of the explosive video.
“With due respect to the CHAN competitions, it’s the least in order for CAF and when we should be rallying round the team on how we should prosecute the game against Egypt we are throwing up all sorts.
“I’m sad and with such news of the impending sacking the coach. We have not failed, my predecessor was judged after he failed to qualify for the Nations Cup.
“We are still on track.”
