Edo Gov. Oshiomhole scraps pensions board over fraudulent activities

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has scrapped the Edo State Pensions Board following the uncovering of fraudulent activities concerning the payment of pensions and gratuities.

Governor Oshiomhole, in a statement, directed members of the Pensions Board to report to the State Civil Service Commission for proper investigation and disciplinary action in accordance with the Civil Service Rules.
“Members of the Pensions Board are advised to steer clear of their offices until investigations are concluded” the statement read.
Governor Oshiomhole also sent the Edo State Head of Service, Mr Jerry Obazele and Permanent Secretary, Information and Communications Technology Agency, Mr Dan Aigbavboa on retirement.
The Governor subsequently appointed Mrs Gladys Idahor as the new Head of Service in Edo State.
