Severely burned girl says 'thank you' after her Christmas wish comes true

A severely burned girl has posted a message of thanks after her Christmas wish to fill her tree with lots of cards from all over the world came true.

Safyre Terry from the USA appealed online for the world to share the festive spirit with her, as her own family is no longer around to do so.

And she received a huge response, as this video shows:

In the video, Safyre is stood next to a full Christmas card tree, with many more surrounding her and in a box.

She says: "I got all these cards on a Christmas tree.

Thank you!"

A message on the "Safyre Schenectady's Super Survivor" Facebook page also thanked those who had sent cards.

It said: "This is absolutely amazing, it takes my breath away.

"The world coming together to make Safyre's wish come true is unfathomable.

"All along we knew God saved her for a reason, never in ours wild dreams, did we think she would move the hearts of many worldwide.

"Thank you doesn't quite say enough for the gratitude we have for all you caring and generosity."
