Novelist Jackie Collins has passed away aged 77.
In a statement, her family said: "It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, dynamic and one of a kind mother, Jackie Collins, who died of breast cancer today."
She was described as a trailblazer for women in fiction, according to a statement from her family given to People Magazine in the US.
In a career spanning four decades, Ms Collins sold more than 500 million novels in over 40 countries. She was made an OBE two years ago. She had three daughters and six grandchildren.
