Switzerland's Office of the Attorney General has said it has opened criminal procedures against Fifa president Sepp Blatter.
Criminal proceedings have been opened on suspicion of criminal mismanagement as well as alternatively on suspicion of misappropriation, it said.
The Swiss Attorney General said it had searched Fifa headquarters today and data had been seized.
It said it suspects Blatter signed a contact in September 2005 with the Caribbean Football Union that was "unfavourable" for Fifa.
It also suspects Blatter acted against the interests of Fifa, it said.
