Charlyboy eulogises wife on 55th birthday

Showbiz ace Charles Oputa, popularly known as CharlyBoy on Friday eulogizes his wife of 37 years, Diane Oputa, as she marks her 55 birthday.
CharlyBoy, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, said “Diane is not just a wife, but a friend and mother who show me so much understanding.
“Diane has stood by me through all my bullshit, my ignorance and my mood swings.
“The fact is that I can never live with anyone like me, but she has managed to survive a 37 years of me.’’
He added that after several failed marriages, his marriage to Diane was a succor to his life and career.
“Honestly, after three failed marriages, I think God did indeed bless me with Diane as a pillar of hope and encouragement through Life.
“She is one of the things in my life that I got right, my ultimate merit badge.’’
The controversial Nigerian entertainment maestro said that his ability to stay in marriage with his wife for 37 years in spite of myriads of challenges was a huge lesson to others.
“I have learnt from her that marriage is not about how compatible couples are, but how they deal with their incompatibility.
“I hope that our togetherness over the years has taught some people about perseverance, tolerance, discipline and love”, he stressed.
NAN reports that Diane Oputa, an American from North Carolina, is the Chief Executive of Taakra Arts and Craft Ltd, an organisation that trains and empowers people, especially women on arts and craft.
Her marriage with CharlyBoy is blessed with three children.
