Former Manchester United and Inter Milan defender, Nemanja Vidic, has retired from football at 34.
The former Serbia international, began his career at Red Star Belgrade and also played for Spartak Moscow, before he joined United midway through the 2005/2006 season.
He won the 2008 Champions League, three League Cups and five Premier League titles during his time at Old Trafford.
Vidic then moved to Inter Milan in 2014, but his contract was cancelled by mutual consent earlier this month.
A statement released to United’s official website reads: “The time has come for me to hang up my boots.
“The injuries I have had in the last few years have taken their toll.
“I would like to thank all the players I have played with, all the managers and staff I have worked with, and say a big ‘thank you’ to the fans for their support over the years.”
