Good morning! Here are 10 things you need to know this morning.
1. President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday at National Assembly chamber presented the 2016 National Budget to a joint session of the parliament.The president who was accompanied by his vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and other members of his executive council presented a N6.08 trn budget to the legislators.

2. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the N6.08 trn budget presented by President Muhammadu Buhari as a fraud. It said the ‘outrageous’ budget would put the future of the nation in jeopardy.
3. President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the immediate payment of December salaries to Federal Government workers. Buhari gave this order at the end of the monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, meeting.
4. As Nigerians join the rest of the world to mark this year’s Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations, the Federal government has declared December 25, 28 and January 1 work-free day to enable workers take part in the festivities.
5. Anyone who collects gifts from fromer Senate President, David Mark without voting him in the forthcoming rerun in Benue South will be punished, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Sunday Ogebe has warned. Ogebe told newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday that anyone calling for the ouster of Mark is an enemy of Idoma community.
6. The Police Service Commission (PSC), has approved the promotion of 986 senior police officers.
The commission also announced Emmanuel Ibe as its acting Secretary.PSC made these decisions at the just concluded commission’s 14th Plenary Meeting held in Abuja.
7. The House of Representatives joint committee on Army, Defence, Public Safety and Security Intelligence, Tuesday questioned Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai over the bloody clash between the Army and the Shi’ite Islamic group in Zaria, Kaduna State two weeks ago, which left several persons dead and score other badly injured.The lawmakers, however, expressed satisfaction with its progress in the investigation of the clash.
8. The All Progressives Congress, APC, has assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari will surely fulfill his campaign promises in the coming year.
The party, while reacting to the N6.08 trn 2016 budget present by the president to the national assembly on Tuesday, stated that Nigerians will begin to feel the positive impact of the change in 2016.
9. Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo has told Nigerians to brace up for tough times in 2016.
The governor said that the coming year will be tough, considering the crisis currently rocking the economy sector.He however, expressed hope that his government will finish strong despite the economic hiccups.
10. The Federal Government of Nigeria has filed a fresh charge of treasonable felony on Radio Biafra Founder, Nnamdi Okwu Kanu.Also charged alongside Kanu is Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi.
