Woman dies while hunting for biscuits hidden by son in her wardrobe

AN OLD lady was found dead in her wardrobe - after suffocating while hunting for biscuits her son had hidden from her.

The 84-year-old, from Udine, a city in north eastern Italy, suffered from diabetes – meaning controlling her blood sugar levels was absolutely crucial for her health.
As a result, her son had hoped placing the sweet snacks on an high, out-of-reach shelf in the cupboard would be good for his mum’s wellbeing.
But unfortunately, his well-intended actions had the exact opposite effect, as his sweet-toothed mother became stuck in the wardrobe while searching for the biscuits.
The coroner reported that the old lady, who has not been identified by the authorities, suffocated as her own body weight pressed her against the hanged clothing - leaving her unable to breathe properly.
Local newspaper Udine Today reported that firefighters had to be called to remove the elderly lady's body from the wardrobe.
